Styling Fur Vests (ft. My Mom)

Monday, February 20, 2017

My mom has been wanting me to feature her on my blog pretty much since she first found out about my blog. I don't tend to feature someone on my blog just because. I'm really picky when it comes to what I want featured, etc. so even though she's my mother, I couldn't just have any kind of post. Considering I love style posts, I decided to have one styling fur vests. My mom actually owns a couple of gorgeous ones and both of the ones you'll see in this post are actually hers.

Outfit 1

For my outfit, I wanted to do something different than my normal 'fur vest over a turtleneck' look. Since the fur vest is grey, I thought it'd be great to layer it on top of a light grey wool coat. I went simple with the sweater I got but opted for embroidered jeans I got recently at Express! They're actually in the clearance section and with the additional 50%, I ended up getting it for $24 with tax!

Outfit 2
I LOVE my mom's outfit so much. Without the fur vest, it's a monochromatic look. I love that one of the colours in the fur vest match her sweater and pants tying the look together but then the other (and more noticeable) colours in the vest stand out a lot.

Love and Bell Sleeves | Valentine's Day Inspiration 2017

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Happy Sunday everyone! Since Valentine's Day is coming up in a couple of days, I thought I'd post on Sunday instead of Monday. Mikayla, Carolina and I all received the same sweater in different colours and since they so happened to be the colours for Valentine's, we thought it'd be perfect to take photos together for some outfit inspiration!

For my outfit, I went pretty simple and paired it with white jeans. To make it a bit more fancy, I wore a statement necklace from "Gifted", a boutique in New Jersey. I also paired it with my sparkly silver flats from ASOS to tie the look together with the necklace. This outfit is perfect for a night out (and keeps you warm).

Mikayla's outfits are always super girly and feminine so it's no surprise she wore a pink midi skirt with her bell sleeve sweater! She wore Valentino-inspired heels to finish the look so I think her look is perfect if you're going fancy for Valentine's!

Finally, Carolina wore the sweater in a dusty rose colour. She wore a denim button up skirt along with the cutest white sheer polka dot tights. I would definitely wear her outfit on a cute movie date for Valentines :)

Hope you got some Valentine's inspo from all 3 of us! Be sure to look at Carolina's and Mikayla's blog for their other Valentine's Day looks.

Leave a comment down below what you're doing to celebrate Valentine's Day/what colour of the bell sleeve sweater you would wear :)

1 Item, 3 Ways: Cowl Neck Sweater

Monday, February 6, 2017

If you're like me, there's probably those same few sweaters you live in throughout the winter. I know for a fact I consistently wear the same 3 cashmere sweaters and Zara marled knit turtleneck pretty much every week. Not going to lie, I used to wear the exact same outfit at least once a week but now that I've fully embraced the fashion blogger in me, I've made more of an effort this winter season to style my winter staples in more ways.

Outfit 1

This sleeveless peacoat I got from ASOS last year for my birthday has been by far my favourite piece to wear in fall and winter. It's such a great layering piece and since it's wool, there's some added warmth to it all. I paired it with faux leather pants to add some texture to the overall outfit (like I usually do) and my go-to booties!

Sweater - Hollister
Peacoat - ASOS (old)
Pants - Zara
Shoes - Zara

Outfit 2

I am 100% obsessed with this pleated skirt I received for Christmas from Joe Fresh's x Flare's collection! It also doesn't feel like plastic like other metallic pleated skirts I've come across. I love the darker shade as well as opposed to silver because it's not as dramatic which makes it easier to style.

Sweater - Hollister
Skirt - Joe Fresh x Flare (old. similar)
Jacket - Zara

Outfit 3

This outfit actually was put together last minute. In my weekly vlog I posted back in December when I went to watch The Illusionists show with my little sister (thanks to my older sister by the way for the tickets), I took my NYE photos that same day. Since I was wearing fancier pieces, I took the most casual pieces from each outfit and put them together and voila, that is the outfit!

#FueledByTea 2.0

Thursday, February 2, 2017
If you personally know me, you'd know that I rarely use other hair products other than the normal, shampoo, conditioner and hairspray. I've never been one to put products in my hair nor do I use much heat on it either. I have naturally straight hair and that's what I tend to have on a normal day to day basis.

Ever since I was introduced to Pai-Shau's products, I've started to take care of my hair and people have noticed a difference! My good friend Mikayla (who you should know by now since I'm with her whenever I have spare time) noticed that ever since I got my hair done (here's the post for that), that my hair is looked much healthier, smoother and shinier.

I already did a review of the first set of products Pai-Shau sent me but after that same hair appointment, they were kind enough to send me their Volume Opulent Spray and Supreme Revitalizing Mask. When they originally sent me their line, I was looking at their product guide and was so keen on trying those products so I was ecstatic to finally try them out!
Like the previous review I wrote, I wanted to test out the products for longer so I could provide a valid opinion on the products instead of testing it out a couple of times.

VOLUME OPULENT SPRAY

Long story short, my hair is flat. It doesn't look like it in photos but it's actually really heavy because there's just that much hair! So the struggle is real when it comes to getting volume. I'm going to repeat myself (and I literally mean copy and pasted from my previous blog post) about the volume opulent spray: Along with the entire hair line, the volume spray is vegan. For this product, the gleditichia is the seed from the honey locus tree (which is common in Ontario). It is then broken down into a nano particle so it can get into the hair shaft. The reason the spray is able to give the hair is a lift is because of the white nettle and ginsing root (two botanical ingredients that also nourish the scalp). Finally, the thel conditioner is used so you can get a more natural movement.

If you've followed my blog before, you'd notice I would never put my hair up because it was so flat. Now that I've been using the volume opulent spray for a few months now, I've been loving the half up, half down top knot hairdo! All I do is massage the spray into the roots of my hair :) Their product guide is so helpful so I stick to the instructions they provide.

OVERALL RATING:

SUPREME REVITALIZING MASK

Like I mentioned before, I was ecstatic to try out the hair revitalizing mask! This product is a weightless formula that adds volume, softness and shine to your hair. I definitely would say I using this in combination with the volume opulent spray gives me the best result! Using this on it's own, it adds more softness versus volume and shine. I do prefer to use the Biphasic Infusion for adding shine to my hair over the mask because it's the perfect product to use whenever I style my hair!

Their entire collection smells incredible and organic so the revitalizing mask is no exception. Every time I use this product, alongside their Biphasic Infusion, it feels like I just walked out of the salon!

OVERALL RATING:

Overall, I'm so happy with all of their products. I legitimately don't use any other hair products other than Pai-Shau. It's been such a great change in my new hair regime and I really recommend trying it.

I totally understand that Pai-Shau's products aren't in everyone's price range but if you wanted to try a selected few (for styling purposes), I would recommend the hairsprays (I personally use Imperial over Sublime) and the Biphasic Infusion! As for their shampoo and conditioner, I wash my hair every other day and it lasts for about 3 months (just to give you some sort of time frame).

What I love the most about their products is how natural everything is; from the ingredients used to the results that are produced, you really can tell how much healthier and luxurious my hair feels and looks after using these products :)

Hope you enjoyed the first review of the new year! Be sure to let me know in the comments which product you'd want to try out :) Also, if you'd like to check out my first review, click here.
