Blogiversary: 10 Things I'm Proud Of

Monday, July 10, 2017
Last week, it was officially my second blogiversary! It's absolutely crazy how much as happened in this 2nd year of blogging. I wrote one last year with all the achievements I'm proud of and I honestly did not think it could get better.

1) Hair Transformation with Rob Pizzuti

Back in October, I was fortunate enough to work with celebrity master colourist, Rob Pizzuti. Rob works at Hair Artisans Salon in Toronto and for Pai Shau. I remember when he first contacted me and I was astounded by the fact he wanted to work with a small blogger like myself. He is such a funny and great guy and I'm lucky that I've been able to work with him over the past year!

2) Ongoing partnerships with clothing companies

Over the past year, I've been working with SheIn. I used to shop their website even before working with them so it was surreal that this company that I'd purchase from wanted to work together. I still work with them and the overalls below are one of my most recent finds! Sadly the button on them did come off. Also, for this particular item, I'd recommend to size up!

3) Invited to Yung Yang's AW show during NYFW

For this one, I don't have any photos because I didn't actually attend. I was invited to Yung Yang's AW show during NYFW. Although they are a smaller designer, being invited to any show during NYFW was one of my goals so that alone is an achievement for myself!

 4) Spring Campaign with Coach

Okay but this was too good to be true. I was studying for my classical geometries class when I got an email titled "Coach x Adrienne Naval" and I was thinking, "Hold up, this can't be happening." It's crazy how marketing agencies can still find you among the millions of bloggers. The campaign was specifically for Instagram but I was too excited that I had a blog post on styling a statement bag.

5) October 2016 with VANS

I'm not one to wear sneakers all the time but I heard so many good things about VANS! This was one of the first campaigns I ever worked on and you can tell how different my editing style was then in the photos below. I'll always laugh at this shoot because it was one of the quickest shoots Mikayla and I ever did and another friend of mine actually saw us taking these photos and thought how weird we were haha. Also, can we take in the long hair?! Good ol' Baby Blogger Adrienne days.

6) Converse Campaign with Little Burgundy

In April, I got to work with Little Burgundy on their Converse campaign. I've loved Converse and have worn them since I was in elementary school so this was really fun for me to work on. It was definitely a challenge to style these because they are more of an athletic-wear kind of shoe but I managed and was really happy with the result!

7) The improvement in the quality of my photos and the photos I've taken for my friends

A couple of the things I'm always continuously doing is trying to improve the quality of my blog through photos, different types of posts, etc. After two years of blogging, I'm so happy with how my photos have been lately. I'm not quite at the level of creativity that I want to be on when it comes to my blog but I'm slowly progressing towards there. With that, I've also improved on the photos I've taken for my best friends (who are also bloggers).

8) Launched my Youtube Channel

This one isn't blog-related but it is influencer-related. I launched a Youtube channel back in October and although I haven't been consistent when it comes to posting, I'm super happy I did it. I feel like when you start something like Youtube, especially vlogs, you become more comfortable with yourself. I also plan on uploading more often now (hopefully weekly so be sure to subscribe!)

9) Reached 1000 followers on Instagram

I think a lot of people can relate to how hard it is to gain followers on Instagram. I'm not about buying followers or using like pods when it comes to my engagement so I've found it a struggle to get my content out there. It's such a small number but I am happy I reached this milestone on Instagram!

10) All the new friendships I've made through blogging

Of course I saved the very best for last.......MY BEST FRIENDS. Okay, I met Mikayla before the second year of blogging but I'm going to include her anyways. This past year, I also met Carolina who, if you keep up with my Instagram and Twitter, we are together all the time - literally weekly. Both of these girls have easily become my best friends and I can't even remember what it was like before that. October 1, 2016 is the officially friendiversary between all 3 of us :)

Now that is my recap over the past year of blogging! I'm genuinely happy with how this blogging journey has come. Not even because of the opportunities I get but more so with the friendships it created. Can't wait to see what the next year of blogging brings to my life!

What is something you're most proud of this past year? Let me know in the comments below!
