The Unexpected Colour You Should Wear for Spring

Monday, May 15, 2017
Good morning and happy Monday! I'm already on my 3rd week of work which is crazy. Today's post looks a bit more summery now that I look at it but with the really nice weather we are expecting in Toronto this week, I'm still going to post it now! By the title, this post is oriented around a certain colour which is sage. I've said before how I tend to lighter colours in the spring/summer months and if you know me, I don't like to go for the "typical" spring colours all the time. I love experimenting and one of the colours I've been loving is sage. If you noticed in the fall/winter, I wore a lot of forest green which is another favourite colour of mine to wear. The green and purple family I think are my absolute favourite to wear!

OUTFIT 1

For the first outfit, you've seen this trench coat before in my spring lookbook back in March. I'm obsessed with it and I think it's unique compared to other pastel colours you see during the spring season. I paired it with denim shorts and a cream top from Forever 21 that I got years ago. I opted for Chuck Taylor's because they're my go-to shoes whenever I go out in the spring/summer.

Jacket - ASOS (old)
Top - Forever 21 (old)
Shorts - Zara (old)
Shoes - Converse

OUTFIT 2

As for the second outfit, it features a romper I got from Rosegal. Rosegal is comparable to stores like Zaful, ROMWE and SheIn. They have a lot of variety in terms of types of clothing; from pinup dresses to street style to vintage, there's a huge range of products. I was contacted to do a review on this item which is why it's featured in this post. Personally, the fit of this particular romper isn't the best. Since there was no style gallery to refer to, I relied on the photo. It looks like the elastic is fitted at the waist when actually it doesn't so I wouldn't recommend this item. I'm not sure about their other items but for this one, I would unforunately have to give it a thumbs down. Colour-wise, I think pairing it with denim is super cute for spring. I love the colour combination of green and blue (it's my favourite combo actually!)

Jacket - Boohoo

Shoes - Aldo
Bag - Topshop

Hope you enjoyed today's post! Let me know in the comments what colour you're planning on rocking this season.
