A Winterlicious Valentine's Day

Thursday, February 4, 2016
LOVE IS IN THE AIR. Valentine's Day is slowly approaching and maybe you have a date that you're trying to find that perfect outfit for? Or just simply looking for some more outfit inspo. Whatever your reason is, I think you'll enjoy this outfit as much as I do.

This past weekend was the start of Toronto's Winterlicious. If you're not sure what that is for you fellow Torontonians, it's described as a "culinary celebration". Hundreds of restaurants (including many high-end ones) offer a prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner. Lunch ranges from $18-$25 whereas dinner range from $25-$45. My boyfriend and I decided to go one of the Oliver and Bonacini establishments, America. I think my favourite part of the restaurant was the decor - especially the washroom. I usually don't stage my photos that much for Instagram but when I went to the washroom and saw the Audrey Hepburn quote on the wall, I knew I had to take a photo. There actually was towelettes and a box of Kleenex on the glass shelf which I ended up moving just for the photo. Thankfully my boyfriend didn't notice how long I was in there for.

I've been waiting over a year to wear this outfit. I received the skirt as a Christmas present from my parents in 2014 and have been trying to find the perfect pieces to go with it since then. Now that I finally purchased all the pieces of this ensemble, no better place to have it than a Valentine's Day Lookbook! I absolutely adore the gold lip prints, there's just something about gold print on black that draws my attention. The weather was warmer than usual but it was also windy so that is why my hair isn't perfectly placed and why I don't have as many photos as I'd like!

A little behind the scenes of taking photos:

    1. You are literally the cutest! Your OOTDs are really well put together and you take great photos. I tend to shy away from bold prints on top but attention grabbing skirts are my favorite! VDay inspo received.

    4. OKAY.... *lots of internal screaming* I LUUUUV YOUR SKIRT - how awesome does gold and black pair too?!?!? You be rockin' this outfit, Adrienne! Hahah I love how much dedication you put in for the photo in the washroom too, super cute! Unfortunately seasons affect my dressing way too much and February is still a month where I'm wrapped up under layers of thermals and long boots :( come spring, I shall be stylish again hahah!

      1. Hi Cherie! Thanks so much for this lovely comment. Even though the weather was still cold in Toronto I am DEFINITELY thankful it was even possible to wear a skirt during this time of year. I'm usually all bundled up in layers as well but this winter season has been totally different so I'm trying to take advantage of the weather whenever I can :)

    6. That is one awesome skirt! :) And great outfit overall. :) Also, I sometimes like wind in the hair for photos, gives a little bit of a movement and free feeling. :)

      1. Even though it's not perfectly placed, I love that there's movement in photos and showing that you can still own the outfit even if wind haha. Thanks Madara :)
