STREET STYLE: LFW SS16

Monday, September 28, 2015
The only thing I love as much as the runway shows themselves at fashion week is the street style. Bill Cunningham once said "The best fashion show is definitely on the street. Always has, and always will be." I always agreed with this because fashion bloggers always have unique outfits they put together. I love looking at fashion bloggers for inspiration more so than celebrities because their outfit choices are always unique and they don't have anyone telling them what to wear. Although celebrities do have great red carpet outfits or fashion week outfits, they definitely have stylists who help them out when it comes to choosing an outfit. I love how experimental fashion bloggers can be. Instead of doing another "Runway Inspired" post like I did for NYFW last Thursday, I thought I'd focus on the street style that I came across instead. I put together my favourite street style outfits from London Fashion Week and showed you some items inspired by the clothes they worn. (Click the photo of the item to redirect you to their website!)

Metallic Sweater
  • I love how put together this outfit looks. She matched the colour of her coat to one of the colours of the sweater. I always love adding a small detail like that because it can totally transform the look.
  • Fringe Skirt
  • Fringe and suede are definitely one of those must-have trendy items in a lot of fashion bloggers and celebrities' closets at the moment. The fringe, combined with the asymmetrical cut adds dimension to the overall outfit.
  • Burgundy
  • This is probably my favourite outfit I came across. I love the burgundy coat paired with a simple grey tee with a contrast trim.
  • Pattern Mixing
  • Pattern mixing is one of those trends that I haven't tried out yet. I never felt comfortable with mixing so many bold patterns before; I'm more of a single statement piece kind of person! I totally love the pattern of the skirt in this photo and found something similar at Urban Outfitters.
  • Cape Blazer
  • I may love cape blazers almost as much as I love sleeveless blazers! Compared to blanket scarves/capes, cape blazers are more fitted. As much as I love a good poncho/cape, it definitely doesn't show off your figure like a cape blazer can.
