Neon in Neon Lights

Monday, August 31, 2015
The Canadian National Exhibition is always a great way for Canadians to end the summer. Since Canada is an extremely diverse city, the CNE makes sure they capture the essence of that. Besides the classic carnival games, food trucks and rides, there are also different buildings that are filled with so many different treasures. For instance, there's an international section with so many booths that have items from various countries like Italy, Ireland, India, China, England and more. The CNE is a family-friendly place that everyone loves to visit. I had such an incredible time going around the entire place. For my outfit, I decided to wear a neon pink collared top from Missguided. Instead of wearing the matching shorts, I decided to wear white jeggings because I was staying until night and it tends to get pretty chilly around Toronto. I also wore a jean jacket from the Bethany Mota Collection from Aeropostale for the same reason. For shoes, I wore the classic white lo-top Converse sneakers to make it easier to walk around.

  • FOTW: Colourblock Cape

    Sunday, August 30, 2015
With fall approaching, everyone is getting ready to show off the upcoming fall trends. I'm so glad that the cape/poncho trend is still in style because last year, there was not as much of a selection in stores and online as there is now. This week's find is a gorgeous colourblock poncho from New Look (via ASOS). I love how this poncho is a mix of the typical burgundy fall colour as well as caramel and brown. This poncho will definitely make you feel like you own that classic Burberry wrap that was seen practically on every celebrity/blogger last year. If you want to look for other capes/ponchos/wraps, check out ASOS, Dynamite and Le Chateau!

    Back to School Looks

    Saturday, August 29, 2015
Going back to school can be exciting and dreadful at the same time. On one hand, you're excited to see everyone again and catch up but also don't want to get back into a school rountine. On top of that, many people like to go back to school and try the whole "new year, new me". I went to a high school that wore uniforms so I never worried about my "first day at school" outfit and now that I'm in university, I don't worry about my outfits so much mainly because you don't see the same people every day like in high school or elementary school. For everyone who are lucky enough not to wear a uniform, here are some back to school looks that should follow the dress code for most schools! If you do wear a uniform, hopefully this will inspire you when you have dress-down days.
    Back to School Boho Vibe

    Outfit 1: 70's Inspired Boho
  • I love this look for the summer to fall transtition. Suede has been so popular and is also perfect for the fall season. Depending on your dress code policy, you can throw on this cardigan if you can't throw your shoulders or if you're just cold.
  • Metallic Statement

    Outfit 2: Metallic Statement
  • All-white outfits are definitely in trend and what I love about it is how you can easily make something the statement piece of your outfit. The metallic slip on's are perfect for school because of the comfort and they're not an overbearing statement piece. Any white graphic tee would give off the same effect so if your dress code policy doesn't allow absolutely anything sleeveless, then just wear a short sleeve tee instead! To top off the entire look, I added a necklace that has a gold chain so it matches the shoes. Little details like that can make a look more put together.
  • Back to School - First Day Comfort

    Outfit 3: Comfort
  • Whenever I don't know what to wear, I usually opt for a plaid shirt and pants. To make it look like you put a bit more effort in, add a faux fur vest (or a real one if you're into that). If you feel like a fur vest is too much for school, you can add a necklace. Adding accessories can easily spice up an outfit!
  • Flowy Floral

    Outfit 4: Flowy Floral
  • Flowy dresses are my favourite. It's perfect for back to school because it's not tight fitting but it accentuates the perfect parts of your body when you add a belt like in the photograph. Since the dress is very flowy and long-sleeved, it's great to wear at school because the temperatures of classrooms vary and this way, you won't be too hot or too cold because you're covered by the long sleeve dress and since the material is thin, it won't be too hot for you.
  • Off Duty Model Inspired

Outfit 5: Off Duty Model Inspired
  • This outfit reminds me of something that Kendall Jenner or Gigi Hadid would wear. Off Duty Street Style always look so comfy and comfy is usually the way to go for back to school! If you noticed, all the shoes I chose for these outfits are flats. I personally think that wearing sneakers and flats are the best way to go when you're at school. My school's campus is huge and sometimes it'll take 15 minutes to get to my next class and I'll only have 10 minutes to get there. So wearing anything super fancy for shoes is definitely out of the question whenever I get ready in the morning. These Adidas Originals are perfect because of the comfort factor and how versatile they can be. It's one of those shoes you can wear every day because of the neutral colours.

    FOTW: Lace Up Ballerina Shoes

    Sunday, August 23, 2015
I have always been a big fan of Zara but recently I've noticed how they have been killing it at the shoe game. They're totally chic, affordable and great quality. I usually destroy shoes incredibly fast but so far, the Zara sandals that have been seen in almost all my OOTD posts have survived and continue to stay in great condition. I found another pair of shoes that I immediately fell in love with and had to share it as my FOTW. These pair of lace-up ballerina flats are perfect for any occasion. Whether it be a day or night look, these flats are definitely a pair worth looking into! Click the picture to be redirected to the Zara website.
As a bonus, there's another similar pair of lace-up ballerina shoes at Zara in black!

    TRENDING: Denim on Denim

    Monday, August 17, 2015
When it comes to trends, I usually don't invest a lot of money into it if I'm purely trying it out. Denim on denim and the denim skirt trend was something I didn't think I would ever want to try out. Most of the denim skirts I've seen didn't have a unique element to it and looked like ones I wore as a kid (which was something I wanted to avoid!). This multi denim skirt from Zara totally spoke to me. I absolutely loved the different take on denim skirts this was and when I saw it on sale, I decided to go for it. I've been experimenting more with my style so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone by trying out two trends with this outfit. The great thing about the denim on denim trend is that denim is one of those timeless pieces. Sometimes when you look back on old photographs, you wonder what ever made you try out certain trends but with denim, you'll never go wrong. Below the outfit details, I found some great (and affordable) denim pieces for you!

  • FOTW: Woven Cami

    Sunday, August 16, 2015
I recently went to Hollister and fell in love with this camisole. The back detailing and the overall simplistic look makes it extremely versatile. It also comes in the generic neutrals: black, white and grey. The best part, it's only $10.95 CAD. I thought to myself, why not share this incredible find? I've been told that I have an eye for really good deals and putting great outfits together at affordable prices. So, introducing the first "Find of the Week (FOTW)", Hollister's Must-Have Easy Woven Cami!

    Through the Looking Glass

    Friday, August 14, 2015
It felt so great to be back in NYC, even if it was for only a day. The city is overwhelming but there is so much to see, it makes everything worth it. I was particularly excited for going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time. I really wanted to see the "China: Through the Looking Glass" exhibit and I was taken away with all the beauty that was created. I love finding inspiration absolutely everywhere but what I loved most about this exhibit was the designer dresses inspired by chinaware patterns. The dresses were stunning and if you're in the area, you should definitely check it out. As for my entire H&M outfit, I wore a plain white dress shirt with a pair of jacquard weave shorts. On top, I wore a collarless blazer to add to the darker palette. Finally, for shoes, I opted for black loafers from Aldo because I had a full day of walking and any sort of heels were definitely out of the picture!

When I first bought this shirt last year, I was a bit skeptical on the pattern because it was different from anything else I owed. I never thought the windowpane pattern would become so popular this year. This completely B&W outfit gives off an elegant yet vintage feel to it with the bowler hat.
